Kia ora koutou,

I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year and look forward to meeting you all soon. I am an only child who was born and raised in Gisborne by the most amazing parents and was lucky enough to marry a Gizzy boy who is a teacher at Lytton. We have been together since high school and have two precious children who keep getting taller than their mother everyday! Lee is 15 years old and in Year 11 at Lytton and Amiria is 10 years old and is a Year 6 at Te Hapara. Growing up I was very lucky to spend a lot of time with my Gran while my parents worked, so without a doubt whanau are the most important thing in the universe to me. I also enjoy shopping, travelling, baking, watching too many reality TV shows much to my husband's annoyance and will be trying to get ready to run the Rotorua half marathon with a couple of friends at the end of April...this has been a hard journey to start after all of the holiday eating I've been doing but a good goal to focus on for term 1!

I have been a teacher at Gisborne Intermediate since graduating from Waikato University at the end of 2000. I always knew I wanted to teach this year level and have loved every year since. I am not only fortunate to teach here but had my son pass through a few years ago and my daughter will attend next year so I have a vested interest as a parent as well as a staff member. Looking through this year's class list I am excited to see all of the new and familiar whanau. There are a few of you that have your third child in my class which is pretty awesome. It will be wonderful to reconnect with you all again and I look forward to catching up with you all at next Wednesday's Meet the Teacher Evening.

I will regularly update our class blog with photo's of what we are learning about, celebrations and updates. I will also email a link to this blog every Sunday once our class email cluster is setup to make it easier for you to check. If you have any queries please feel free to email and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa - Warm greetings to you all
Ana
